Is there a way to do this? I see people ['s computers anyways] on seek that have similar tastes to me, but I don't have any way of meeting them except by random chance. Is there a way to identify users on seek based off their ip address?
Or maybe send them a message or something?

I tried creating a notepad file or something in the dir of the person I wanted to talk to, but I didn't have access [which I wasn't surprised at, although I have been on computers that allow all users to access everything [read/write/delete/etc]. It was funny.]
Anybody with actual input?

first, get yourself a linux box [or ssh or telnet to gpunix.umr.edu]
type,
host [ip address w/o brackets]
then it will tell you their stuff and you should be able to figure it out from there. just take away the first three letters of course.
