Alright, I read ratemyprofessors, but I was wondering if it is truly worth the effort to drop math 208 with Insall? He seems kind of annoying, and I've heard bad things, but I was wondering if anyone else has an opinion of the man.

I know several people that have had positive experiences with Insall, most of which were math or comp sci people. It's nice to use ratemyprofessors.com to get an idea, but ultimately you need to judge for yourself.
i had a 89.6% and he told me the deciding factor for not giving me the A was that i didn't sign up for an internet discussion group. there was another student who had an 89.8% and was not given the A either.
his math classes are mostly theory based, hardly ever does examples and gives true/false, fill in the blank, and essays on your tests.
the final consisted of 12 true/false and 3 essay questions.
by essay questions i mean that he may ask you to solve a system of equations in words, or you may have to prove something by diging into theory.
my opinion: if you want a good understanding of linear algebra, try to get into another section. if you want an A, try to get into another section. overall, try to get into another section. i doubt that they will let you switch though without a valid reason.
Worst class of all time, I would rather taken another Lit class than that piece of crap. Learned nothing from him and most arbitrary grader ever. If he likes you, you will get a good grade. Two guys sat behind me, both with same answeres on True False and similar answers on the other stupid parts, one got mid 80s other mid 60s, a few percentage would be understandable, but that was ridiculous.
