It's funny. I looked all over the Physical Facilities webpage and couldn't find a damn thing about it. Strange. But hey, go ahead and double check by looking through the entire MASTER PLAN:

They have a second location for the master plan: http://131.151.24.148/masterplan/index.htm But don't exprect any useful info from it. It is listed as "Landscape projects in design" after all the stuff they want to do for the Havener Center and before the new signage that is needed at the campus entrances.
To me it looks like they're building a pool. I wonder if it will actually be finished ever. The progress is slow, if any at all. And now from the rain the ground will be wetter than a virgin on prom night. Which, of course, will slow the construction down even more. I'll go ask the library desk people what's going on.
Slow progress is an understatement. What you see right now is the product of 2 1/2 MONTHS of work. And just so everyone doesn't come in and ask me, no, it is not a pool. It will be filled in with soil and will have trees planted in it.

Of course its not, because a fountain and or a pool would have been an cool improvement.
In regards to the dumb asses that set up the blockades; we do have some since not to walk in the work area, please back off some of the fences so one does not have to walk ALL THE WAY around buildings…
I read these forums often but usually refrain from joining because most of the conversations in here are ignorant. But in this case I'm gonna make an exception. Mr. Holms comment has ticked me off.
I work for the school and am one of the "dumbasses" that set up the fences and blockades. UMR has a lot of smart people, but book smart and common sense smart are two very different things. I've personally worked in front of the library and watched numberous students just wander into the construction site, regardless of all of the orange fencing. Hmmm, big equipment, construction site, lets just wander around in here, maybe this is where i'm supposed to be. I'm sure mr. Holms is one of these dubious students who have no "since" I mean "sense" as it should be spelled. As for having to walk all the way around the building. Yes that sucks, but the reasoning for this is because when you have several hundred students walk thru the grass everyday, it doens't take long to turn it to dirt, and then to mud when it rains. And really, how much more difficult is it for you to walk an extra block out of your way. Are you that freakin lazy......
