Then if you have a bell on your bike, stop fucking ringing it every 5 steps when you're going through the tunnel. Everytime I've walked through the tunnel this week, there's been a few people on bikes, and as always the tunnel is filled with walkers. Just a little clue, if I see somebody coming with a bike, I'm likely to move to the side. But if I hear somebody is constantly ringing one of those damn bells, I ignore it and keep walking, and I have seen this is the case with many others. Just in case you haven't figured it out yet, the tunnel isn't wide enough to accomodate bikers and many walkers. Same goes with those who insist on walking in groups 3 or 4 people wide on the fucking sidewalks.

People that ride bikes are douche bags, just carry around something to jam in their spokes when they ride by.

Bj, you moved out, move on you bastard! Heh, and at the slow speed that the bikes go through the tunnel I'm pretty sure that the biker wouldn't have enough velocity to run over anybody. Pretty sure they'd be the ones who come to a stop. :P

In many years bike riding I have not had any pedestrian accidents. I would suggest to people in the tunnel not to pass anyone when two way pedestrian traffic is present. And don’t ring a bell or any of that crap to try and pass, that is only ok for boats. Also don’t silently pass people ever as it generally scares the crap out of them. If you can get your bike to make some kind of noise that is great, like a small thing in the spokes or something is best, and you can always remove it for long rides away from people.

Or you could always say, "On your left" or "On your right" when you pass them so they know which side you are on. I find it scares them less, but you always run into the few dumb ones who move to the left when you say "On your left" or vice versa. They deserve to be hit.

Or just not ride a bike to class. I tried it and it wasn't worth the hassle of locking it up, and dealing with the groups of like 6 people who walk from TJ and take up all of the sidewalk. Easier to walk IMO. Especially with our tiny campus. I just use my bike for riding around Rolla and exercise.

I hate people that do that. I've biked for a long time, mostly on little trails etc. There's always people that jump around and try to avoid you when you're biking there.

For the walkers: If you hear a biker, continue to walk in a straight line unless that directly conflicts with the biker. You are much easier to avoid if you continue along a linear path.

Bikers: Realize of course that you don't have to go 30 mph on the sidewalks. You're not in that much of a hurry. And if you are, you have other problems besides riding a bike.

I personally don't have a bike this year, but prob will later. I just dislike people who don't have any idea how to handle the mix of walkers/bikers...
