well, on the issue of the 10% ethanol, ive found it to be, on average, 5-10 cents cheaper. also, its donestically produced, which is another advantage. i havent done much research on the subject, but i was wondering if anyone knew the max percentage one could put in gasoline and still run well gas engines and how the ffv's engines are different than reg gas engines

Conservatively you could use 15-18% ethanol in cars, 10% is the standard though. Ethanol when burned produces less energy, and the FFV cars computers can adjust the engine to run with less energy, if you put E85 in a non FFV there will be big problems.

I have had a much bigger problem with overheating when I use the 10% ethanol gasoline, but this was before I changed my radiator. It would overheat much more quickly than when I used regular gasoline. (I drove like this for 3 months, annd even did some testing to see if I was just imagining it. I am pretty sure this is true, Ethanol burns hotter than gasoline.)
And where is this gas that is supposed to be produced from chicken waste? I know that their is a plant in Carthage, MO, my hometown, and it has stunk up the place horribly. supposively, the output is signifigant, but I have yet to hear of anyone using it.

so, if its just a matter of the computer, couldnt that easily be remedied? again, i havent done any research, but i have been intrigued for a while. i would imagine it would take some actual engine modification, but i honestly dont know

From what I understand it requires a different spray. The FFV's have two injectors or one capable of two sprays, one for standard gas and one for E-98.

I am not sure about the higher temp burn, however the two nozzle thing is. Also there are certain components of the fuel system that are made of different materials.
