Some islamic terrorists were planning several attacks for this 4th anniversary of 9-11. There's probably more planned they didn't catch. I don't know about anybody else, but that sunday of the 11th I'm going to be staying home and partaking in an anti-terrorist, very american pastime - cleaning my guns.

But they were planning to attack a ball (dance) and an army recruiting station. I know other attack plans intercepted in the past were against malls.
It would certainly be easier for them to block off your 4 or 5 exits, then systematically exterminate everyone in the dorms (who have already been disarmed for their convenience!), than for them to kill that much in a mall. Personally, if I was living in the dorms I'd get the hell out of Dodge and at least go somewhere that the terrorists don't have a guarantee of disarmed targets.

I agree... I mean if I were a terrorist contemplating an attack, facing a life of imprisonment with none of the rights that other criminals get... I would come to Rolla, Missouri and kill college kids who lived in the residence halls...

right...but why, people did this when the twin towers fell, hey, what if they come after me. They are more than likely going to go after targets of either political, or economic importance. I can see the significance of destroying a small college town, it would put everybody in a state of terror, for if they attacked rolla, they could attack and small town, just to show they can, but i bet the economy wouldnt take a huge hit, the president would retaliate, and more small town people would join the army. Right now people are thinking "sure Iraq is bad, but they won't come after me". They attack a small town, that might change. I see no reason why anybody would want to attack this small town.
From what I've read, terrorists avoid attacking on prominent anniversaries because they think there's a much larger chance of them getting stopped before they carry out their attack. They're probably right.

because terrorists dont own and clean guns. have fun being a psycho.

The difference between preparation and paranoia is the level of disruption of your life in proportion to the likelihood and severity of the threat.
For instance, if you wear your seatbelt, the extra 2 seconds it takes to put on the seat belt is not a big disruption in your life, especially compared to your odds of being in a car wreck in your life. However, if you don a nomex fireproof suit and gloves, crash helmet, etc each time you drive your car (to normal places), THAT would be paranoid. But if you drive race cars, it would be a reasonable preparation for a likely event.
In the same way, leaving the dorms and spending the day with a friend at a low-priority target where people have not been disarmed, is not a huge disruption of your life. If you were to build an underground bunker and stock it up with food, water, and radiation pills, and then live in it for a week before and after, in response to that news article about the planned attack, that would be paranoid.
Besides, my comment about actually cleaning my guns was a flippant comment. Any guns I own are already cleaned and oiled. I was being silly.
But I will be sitting at home listening to the news.

okay, i see what you mean. I however would consider going a home a big thing, since i live in another state. might as well stay here, it would be stupid for me to go to home just to be safe, it would a waste of 8 hours of driving and 5million dollars worth of gas.
I'm going to spend September 11 on the shitter. The entire day. Just purging. And eating BBQ wings
