I dont know how morally challenging it is. Those convicts will now have one useful thing result out of their existence....or lack there of.

This shouldnt be a big fuss, using cadaver parts and skin is fairly common in the medicinal world. Using cultured cadaver skin for cosmetics is just the next step.

Well let's see how much I can remember off the top of my head. I last looked into it several years ago.
Coloration is often added through the use of fish scales and ground bugs. A particular color of red comes from grinding some beetle and adding the pulp to the cosmetic.
A number of the ingredients listed with odd numbers instead of names often tend to be animal based as well, things like ground bone for example.
Urea and amniotic fluid from cows, and formaldahyde are often included. And lets not forget the ever enjoyable toluene as a solvent, or coal tar!(very well known carcinogens) Hell even mercury is allowed as an intentional additive in eyeshadow by the FDA! (at least it isn't methymercury)
Considering that decent proportions of the dust you see floating around a room is dead skin which you are inhaling everyday anyway, using it in cosmetics isn't so bad.
Now some of this is changing, and it is more of an issue elsewhere than in the US. But, the big issue with all these cosmetics is kind of like the Batman movie. Each of them on their own have small levels of things that should have little effect on you. But what happens when you combine carcinogens or some diseased bug from Nail polish, eye shadow, lipstick, foundation, etc...all together every day? It's almost impossible to tell, and probably isn't a huge deal, but it is an interesting thought anyway which will keep activists working overtime for years!
