Apparently, the city seal has a cross on it, and since the ACLU is predominantly anti-christian, they want it removed. What happened to freedom of speech and all that stuff? I think the cross is more historical than religous anyway since Spanish Missionaries colonized LA in the first place. (FYI, the ACLU had nothing to say about the Roman goddess on the seal.)

As soon as I find a link to the whole story, Ill post it.

Which is why the ACLU is defending a rural pastor who wants to hold baptisms in a river in a public park, right?

The ACLU is anti-christian, look at what they've done. They fight tooth and nail to remove any chrisitan symbol from public view, while having no problem with jewish or other religions symbols. I'm just waiting for they day that they say our national cemeteries shouldn't have crosses for our soldiers since it may offend non-chrisitians. The ACLU has run amok over the past decade and should be opposed by everyone since its typical tactic is to bring long drawn out litigation upon small municipalities which cannot fight the battle due to financial reasons. Yeah, the ACLU is just great.

How many times do I have to say this? Many people who claim that the U.S. Constitution and government are based on "Christian values", despite the fact that there is no notion of democracy or civil rights in the Bible.

I wouldn't say that the ACLU is anti-Christian so much as many Christians seem to be anti-civil liberties.

Wow. This is exactly like what happened in my hometown, Republic, MO. The ACLU went haywire over our town's flag, which had an ichthyus (sp?) on it. All of us non-religious folk didn't give a damn, except for one person who went all up-in-arms about it because she practiced Wicca and didn't want the general population of the US to think she was Christian or something.

Anyways, it got like national attention... The most my town of 5,000 people has ever seen.

And I don't know why I'm blathering on like this... I'll chalk it off in the random drunken ramblings column. Cause that's exactly what I am right now. Drunk.

Yeah. Too often true in this country.
