So, I've got a system with 2 internet connections-one through a friend and one UMR ethernet. Is there any way I can force all outbound traffic through the friend's connection, but keep inbound connections allowed on both interfaces? It would be nice, although not needed to run all 131.151.*.* connections through the UMR net.

I'd like to know how to do this for windows, but linux knowledge would also be useful-possibly editing the hosts file?

You will need to modify your routing table on the local machine. I believe you'll want to use the ROUTE command.

The hosts file (on both Linux and Windows) is just the first place that the OS goes when trying to resolve a domain name to an IP. It has no bearing on routes at all.

You're right, I thought there was a similar file for routes, which would not be named hosts, of course.

I'll fiddle around with route, but that sounds like the ticket
