I have a comp that isnt that old but it lacks a video card. I want to put an ancient STB Velocity 128 in it but i dont know if it is safe to install the AGP 1.0 card in a 4x AGP motherboard.

And if I install the STB Velocity 128 how would I go about installing the drivers or would anything even show up on the monitor without those drivers.

This old video card is hard to find any of that kind of information on that is actually usefull.

the AGP bus should downclock to your old card, assuming the card fits in the slot. If the card shows video in the BIOS you should be able to get it to work in Windows, you might have to just run the default driver windows loads, but it should work

Windows has drivers for just about any mainstream video card, no matter how old. I put a PCI Velocity (circa 1996) card in a machine I built for my mom and XP recognized it without a hitch.
