yea... can you basically not play games on windows 2k3 server... silly question i know... but its a very basic answer... atm my direct3d acceleration is not avaliable, thus neither is the agp texture acceleration.. when i had XP on this box it ran games fine.. but now im running 2k3 and i cant even run chrimson land anymore... wtf?

is there a fix of some kind, or do i need to go back to XP?

you have to turn those on by default. 2k3 is a pretty hard core server os compared to other things MS has made.

To play games on mine I must:
Download the newest DirectX package.
Download drivers from your manufacturer.
Turn on Windows Audio Service.-probably need new drivers too

Also:
Set Program/Service priority to program.
Set Page File size to something that won't change.

I never had problems with games in 2K3. Oblivion, B&W2, NFSMW ran just fine.

Run dxdiag.exe and on the 'display' tab make sure everything is enabled.

didnt notice that the first one wasnt even enable... clicked enable.. and now i dont even have a disable option any more... i think i might have to restart though...

heh... all i had to do was go into display, settings, advanced, troublshoot and move the slider from no to full hardware acceleration....
