I used Acronis to backup my XP install before switching to 7. After mounting the image and trying to move data from the old desktop folder to windows 7 I get an error saying I don't have the permissions to do so. I have searched this problem and understand why it is happening but I can't find an appropriate solution. Any of you have any ideas?

Open it in r/w mode, give yourself permission to the folders, get old files, eject, ..., profit?

I tried that, and the best I can tell I gave myself permission but I get the same error.

did you actually replace the permissions on all the child objects?

I can't change the permissions because 'access is denied'. If I find a way to remove 'Account Unknown' will that fix my problem?

Take ownership of the folder and apply recursively.

got it, thanks for the help. The jump from xp to 7 without vista in between has been difficult, but I'm loving 7 so far.
