I currently use Azureus, but hate it now. It uses Java 2 Enviroment, which keeps eating away at my RAM. Have gotten up to 200mb with just that one fucking program. Does anyone know of any simple, clean, small, non-RAM eating clients out there?

I use linux and used to use azureus, but it eats system resources like a bitch. So far, I am mostly happy with BitTornado, but, it's a little on the simplistic side.

That's what I was saying. Fucking Java2 Enviroment just keeps growing. I have a gig of RAM, but with that taking almost a fourth of my resources, it fucks everything else up. Plus, thanks to the new patchs, it's hella unstable. Will try BitComet first, since it was the first suggested, but only after I finish the two things I am still downloading.

bittornado also has a console client... but 98% of the time i dont really care about resources (2100+, 1g pc2700) so i use azureus. its feature set is unbeatable, especially for queueing up lots of torrents.

I have a gig of RAM also, as well as a 2.7gig processor, but for some reason, Java2 just keeps eating away at my resources.

I am currently using BitComit, and it's working fine. Like the onboard links

I never thought I'd say this....but...

I think Microsoft's JRE worked better than Sun's. *cough cough*

You should be tarred and feathered for daring to say such a comment.

Because there's no way to limit your bandwidth usage, ass. Fucknozzles like you are why our bandwidth is running like a steaming pile of dog shit right now.

Azureus and a lot of the other programs allow you to cap your upload and download rate so you don't consume all of the bandwidth yourself.

Azureus doesn't -allow- you to, it does it for you. Have no choice in downloading or uploading. Always hated downloading 1.5kbps per connection, but uploading 3kpbs per person. That annoyed me more than anything.

when's the last time you used azureus? it does have a "config wizard" but you can also set it up yourself

edit: fwiw, the basic bittorrent console client does allow you to limit upload, and bittornado console allows you to limit up and down

Yeah, with Azureus you can set your max upload and download rate.

And as for the normal BitTorrent client, being able to cap your upload rate must be a relatively new feature. Or it's always been there and I couldn't find it during the really short period that I used the basic BitTorrent client. Either way, you're still a fucknozzle -- use a better client than the basic one.
