yea ok.... so i just put windows many errors on (ME) and i was getting it configured, did a fdisk to set up a second partition, restarted and bam i have 3 partitions. the windows partition and then 2 other ones that are the same size.

on a 10 gig hdd with 2 gigs for windows and 8 for other, how do you get a 2 gig and 2 8 gig partitions. well i thought that they were clones and windows was just dumb, so i copyed a file onto one, and it didnt show up on the other, i restarted and the file was still jsut on the one, so i put another file on the ohter drive and restarted, and it was the same, so it seemed my computer thought it had another 8 gig partition with no hwere to stick it... very confusing to me but what ever.

so i run fdisk again... and it crashes from a dos boot

friggin awsome

run-time error r6003
- integer divide by 0

that was it, it happened over and over again no matter what i tried. windows still booted fine but it was confused to all hell.

im now re-reinstalling windows, but im gonna try a diff os... dont need help troubleshooting i already quit... just thought someone might find it funny

lol, Your first mistake was attempting to install Windows Mistake Edition. That's my thought anyway.

I agree fdisk isn't the smartest thing in the world, but it's got me everywhere I need to go anyway.

you're sure you didnt create an 8gb extended partition with an 8gb logical partition inside?

hehe im not sure what i did, and i know that i should have stayed away from Many Errors.. i only went back bc i was having some driver issues with an older machine, so i tried an older os... it had issues and it wound up being a nic that wasnt happy with the mobo so i switched it out.

got xp on it and its doing ok... its no super comptuer but it runs

i just thought it was funny that i crashed a basic function of dos

You would have been better off putting 98SE or something on instead of ME.
