To Joe, AJ, and whoever else runs this website now, I have a question.
How difficult would it be to incorporate an eBay-like engine into these forums, or not even into the forums, but to the website. I'm not talking about renting sell space from ebay like some businesses do, but either writing, borrowing, etc. some form of auction code that would allow us fellow seekers to have a more organized/profitable method of selling our goods to each other.
I personally have a limited coding vocabulary, and a task like this is probably outside my reach. However, I would be willing to assist someone in creating an auction branch for Seek42.
Let me know.

I would imagine it couldnt be too difficult to implement an auctioning system, the question is whether or not there is a large enough demand to make the work worthwhile.

I think it would be a great idea

I'd be interested in using it, but not helping to write it.
I would help with writing code and putting it together if needed

Not that my opinion counts for much, but I love that idea.
Also, I have a nice rackmount Proliant 5500 in the closet that's not doing much, so if for some reason you'd need to distribute some load, I'd love to help out.

I like the idea and would be interested to put a pre-built solution that required minimal effort in to give it a whirl... but, I don't think investing a lot of effort into something like this would come of much...
Just having read the forums for around a year now, you don't go to seek to sell for profit usually.. it's more like an online garage sale than an organized auction house.. It may work out in favor of the seller, but not really sure if the average "seek" buyer would go for it.
Who knows, I'm interested to see how it would work out.

Have you seen the turnout for those harddrives? It seemed that there is a definate use for this, and I think it is worth a try. I feel pretty confident that this will get quite a bit of use.

Its definitely a thought. I know I for one have a crapload of stuf that I don't really want to organize/categorize just for one post, but if I could set up a "store" or something, that would be better. Make it a lot easier to search for what you need as well.
As for the WTB store, I think the forums are good enough for that, though maybe you could make a sub-store forum just for that, to keep the actual forums a bit cleaner. The problem with that is that there probably wil be a lot of people who don't look at the store, and they might have just what you need.
