ive got the previous version... worked fine for me.. the structure is differnet.. but the index is a wounderful thing.. in my class we rarly referenced to the book for class, just for programming in which case you usually referred to the index or table of contents to find the chapter you need for the relevent code

I'll think about it... The instructor specifically said not to get the old edition for that very reason, but it doesn't sound like it'd be that much of a problem.

I never even bought a book for IST 151 and had no problem getting an A, I think I actually got well over a 100% thanks to a ton of extra credit.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. I took Java and C++ in high school, and I just finished VB with 103% in the class. But hey, I just found the third edition for $7.25 shipped on Half.com, so maybe I'll just get that to refresh my memory.

yea.. it kinda works that way.. its just nice to have the book as a referance piece
