Okay, so... the one feature I need from my iPod, the usb connector is on the fritz. So I am sending out the APB on literally any iPod. I'll even buy iPhones if you can use them without a cell plan in airplane mode.

Except the shuffle. Fuck that shit.

I have an old iPod Photo (30GB) that I'm not using.. would you be interested? Also, what accessories are you looking to get as well (e.g. are you also expecting a charge cable, headphones, Apple fanboi stickers for your car {or to use on someone else's car who is very anti-Apple - highly recommend}, etc. etc.)?

Also, assuming you get another iPod, what are you going to do with your current one? Any plans on getting it fixed, or... ?

The USB cable and iPod would be fine. I don't like the apple earbuds.

What I use right now is a 1st gen iPhone 8gb. The connect seems to work fine for syncing it etc but the audio cuts out on the dock, my car stereo etc. I don't know much about repair options for it, I suspect it wouldn't be worth it.

How much do you want for it?

If it's simply a loose solder problem, it's not too hard to repair it yourself (assuming you know how to solder halfway decently and have a good electronic workbench at your disposal :p). I've had luck fixing flaky connections on a few devices in the past this way.

Not much, really. I think I offered it too soon, though, as it looks like I won't be able to make it to Rolla for a couple weeks. Sorry :(

If you still haven't found a replacement by then, though, let me know.

I might give it a shot, but I'd like to have another locked down before I do so.

Well there are barely surface scratches on the back, I could prolly let it go for 75 at the very very least. But 40 is just a joke.

I thought maybe hard drives went bad in all of them. I bought a cheap CF card conversion thing, and can't get it going with any of them. Either its a knock off, or something else is wrong with them. Wierd thing is, it will almost work on one more than the other, and with a certain zif connector.
All are missing HDD's now.
In the process, I also got one to have a blank white screen.

I'm curious what kind of harddrive they use. I wonder if I could frankenstein a laptop harddrive on the outside to get it alive again.
