ASUS & c9tech: The Best Notebooks... Period.
The Exotic Technology Showcase: All Day Event @ Havener - Take 2? Thanks to everyone who showed up at the Spring 2006 Showcase, we had a good time talking to everyone!
We're thinking of doing another real soon, so let us know what you thought and/or what you like to see at the next one.
If you did not make it last time... don't be stupid again.
Who the hell is ASUS? For those who don't already know about ASUStek...
They are the World's #1 Motherboard and Video Card manufacturer [volume and quality].
The numbers that we just got for 2005...
ASUS sold 33% of the world's Motherboards, including OEM [non-branded].
They also manufactured notebooks for Apple and Sony.
ASUS Ensemble [ASUS Brand] notebook sales surpassed Apple sales for Q4-05 [worldwide].
More recently they're going to provide DELL with a 12" model.
ASUS has been an ODM for many other companies as well...

I'd go see what they had to offer. They make some top notch motherboards, so i'd hope to see some of those, especially if they were gonna show some hardware for the new AMD chip/socket coming.

Good to know!

Anything that's posted in this thread, will be forwarded to ASUS...
They need to hear what you guys are after.
To hit an engineering school like ours, would probably be the smartest thing they could do.
Ok, so motherboards would have to be there for you to show up? If were just Notebooks, would you come?
Yes, because I'm halfway in the market for one, but I would definitely show up if they were marketing a wide variety of products. It would be awesome to get a sneak peak at the next round of AMD motherboard's (i.e. 940 pin). Plus, I think every self appointed geek would turn out if they showed concepts of those off.

That's what we figured too...
Send me an e-mail and I'll give you info about notebooks. Check out our site too [if you haven't already].
The new Centrino Core Duo [Dual Core Pentium Mobile] lineup should hit late March... so expect those on the site later.
Ahhh, don't get me started on Intel's new naming system... Yes, I frequent the c9tech website to see what's out and about, so I have a pretty good handle on what you guys have to offer.

I have to agree with most of what's been said. Notebooks are cool and I'd show to check them out, but PC components are what I'm really looking for ATM.

I'll definatly be there as I have been using ASUS motherboards for a couple years now and recommend them to any one wanting to build their own computer. My next project will include an ASUS board with a dual-core processor, but that won't be until this fall.
