Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone has had success overclocking the P4-based celerons (socket 478). If so, what FSB frequency/voltage/multiplier did you run and how hot did it get? Will an MSI board allow this?

Yeah, but the only options I've got in BIOS right now is 8x or 23x. Might as well leave it at 23x, since when I ran at 8x and 100FSB, CPU clock was still 2293mhz.

I have a Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz 533 FSB in my machine. I have a MSI mobo. My mobo includes the standard MSI auto-overclocking feature. It is included in the fuzzy logic 4 software. Just install Fuzzy Logic 4, then run it, and there should be in the upper right hand side, two buttons. One says auto, the other, says stop. If you click on auto it gives you a warning that overclocking voids warranties, but if you say yes, it will auto-overclock for you, and when it gets unstable it will drop it back into a more stable mode. I haven't used it, but that is what the instructions say. Also in Fuzzy Logic 4, you can adjust the multiplier yourself should you so desire, and also the FSB speed. There are some other voltage options too. I use F. L. 4 to check my CPU temperature. I am a wuss, and don't want to overclock. (I can't afford to have my machine toasted) When I get my next computer (eventually, in like 4 or 5 years) I will overclock this one that I have now, but, for now, no way.

I have never had an mATX from MSI. This is my first board from them, I love my board, the instructions were cristal clear, and their BIOS was highly configurable to what I wanted. I am really pleased. I (think) I replied to your PM. So I won't repeat that here, but I found (using fuzzy logic 4) that my mobo is a MS-6580 ver. 20A, and i have an AMI bios. If I find anything else out about it, I will post here again.

Looks good, I like the 4 DIMMs, the ONLY thing I regret about my mobo, only 2 DIMM slots, other than that, I am in love with my board, well, not really. But I like it alot, does that count?
Sorry you lost your bid, that really sucks.
Edit: wrong button, submit is different than preview.
