So apparently some idiot thought a checker wouldn't realize that her million dollar bill was a fake. Wow. I know people are stupid, but this is really bad.

What's worse? I know people that have successfully passed Bill Clinton $3 notes at McDonald's.

Isn't the highest denomination a $10,000?
I know at some point it goes to treasury notes up to $500K...

No.

The highest denomination of bills that the US Mint prints is $100. I think that they used to print $1000 bills, and there might be some of them still in circulation, but the highest value that they print today is $100.

They used to print in denominations of 500, 1000, 10,000, 50,000, and 100,000, also. A quick look to any history of money site would reveal that, as well as some of the interesting men whose faces were on the money, such as Salmon P. Chase and Woodrow Wilson.

I used to work at a grocery store, and the city police gave the manager a photocopy of a counterfit $100 successfully passed at the local gas station.

It was a $10 with an extra zero drawn on the end
Can't believe someone was stuipd enough to accept it...

The highest bill ever printed, was a $100,000 note that was printed from December 18, 1934 to January 9, 1935. It was used for transactions between Federal Reserve Banks. President Woodrow Wilson was pictured on the front.

The following bills have not been in print since 1946: $500 (William McKinley); $1,000 (Grover Cleveland); $5,000 (James Madison); and $10,000 (Salmon P. Chase, former Treasury Secretary).
