from that flash video you can tell where nintendo is going with this. Dancing letter I's that completely gear towards kids.
The only thing that actually peaks my interest is that it's supposed to be really cheap... I heard under $225 on launch. It's about the only console that people can actually easily afford on launch, since you won't be seeing a 360 or ps3 at that price for a couple years.

But in regards to the Revolution/Wii, I'm really glad one of the three is branching out from the standard console format. Nintendo is trying to find a niche through innovation, while PS3 and XBox360 are just making wheels that are more round. Personally, I don't own any consoles b/c I'm poor and I think I can experience basically the same thing on my PC. Nintendo may change this with the new controller design if it is as cool as it has the potential to be.

Yeah, I don't see what the problem with this is. I think the idea is kind of cool, and I don't see how it's geared towards kids just because of the shape/name. Wait for the games to decide that.

The word "bi-partisan" usually means some larger-than-usual deception is being carried out.
I say it's geared towards kids because the letter I's act like the pawns in the Sorry PC game. jumping, bumping around and acting like a cartoon character. Compared to Sony's blow stuff up commercials and MS's jump in themes, Nintendo's just seems pretty low-key.
Plus, nintendo has a pretty long history now of marketing towards kids. After the PS1 came out you really didn't see much from Nintendo going after the older audience. They tend to go after kids and large groups style games. Except for the new Zelda coming out and Red Steel they havn't shown much lately.
Not to rag on the Wii or anything, I actually think Nintendo may be the smartest company for this gen consoles. Most people can't/won't afford both the PS3 and 360, but can a Wii/360 or Wii/PS3 in their first couple years out the door.
Plus the games are going to be alot cheaper, which actually means alot now since I for one am already tired of paying $60 per next-gen game.

That's pretty sad that commercials have to contain shit getting blown up or something in your face to get attention or be "mature"

This is one issue I seem to disagree with a lot of people on. Somehow, video games have defied the laws of economics and, consequently, inflation. I remember paying $59.99 per game for the N64, and was surprised that games became cheaper as new consoles were introduced.
