So I borrowed the DVD's and am currently rolling through season 3. Just wondering if there are any fans out there. It was hugely popular in Britain. When I didnt get the joke about Santa Claus being a real bastard, my friend gave me his DVDs to watch the first 6 seasons. The seventh and eighth seasons come out in a month or two. Lister, Rimmer, and the Cat are hilarious. Watch this is you havent seen it.

I love Red Dwarf. It was part of my regular lineup on KETC (PBS) back in the day. I still remember when they were making new episodes, though I missed quite a bit of season 8 when it was new.
Good stuff. Now I want to go back and watch'em all again. Time to dig up my discs.
oh, and I have had Tongue Tied (the song from Cat's dream sequence in season 3) stuck in my head for a day and a half.
I wish i could find a video of the dance somewhere. If you see it, it shows you just how white Rimmer really is...

New Mission folks. Find a way to link Red Dwarf to some kind of learning, and have it be a program this coming year. I'll gladly host it, and I think it would be cool to sit around and watch four hand picked episodes of Red Dwarf, or even just the first four (get some people hooked). I was thinking maybe British Culture (learn some british slang and such), or possibly something to do with space travel. Any ideas that will get approved are welcome.

wow, i used to watch red dwarf when it was on PBS (KETC for me!) back int eh day when they were making new episodes. i believe i have season 1 on VHS back at home.............. yowza.
but since i'm off campus, i'll have to look for it on DC++ if i want to watch it i s'pose
Red Dwarf rules; I grew up on that shit. My parents have just about every season/episode on tape. The backwards world episode is probably my favorite, but there's so many good ones (suicide squid, quarantine, gespacho soup, etc), it's hard to decide.

I watched that show when I was young too, the only episode I remember though is where the guys find their counterparts from another dimension, and they're all female.
