They need to be doing some fracking Investigative Reporting on how corruption in government is going to anal rape us some day soon. I have heard more about hurricanes than I ever cared to know. The government screwed up but people should do more to help themselves instead of playing the victim all of the time. "The government isn't helping us enough, blah, blah, blah....." Why should my taxes go to pay for rescuing those people who refused to evacuate when they knew, in advance, that the levees would not hold back the storm? Please help make my ignorant self understand why I should help these people. Who will help these people when it is the government coming after them? No one will be left to help them. I have no desire to help people that don't make an effort to help themselves.

I stopped watching the TV news long ago. I found it making me pissed off and depressed. I'd much rather be ignorant and happy.
Although the TV news is a large source of ignorance, so much more goes on than they choose to report.
