Peter Jackson is the Executive Producer of the upcoming HALO movie. No word on director, cast, etc. It will be filmed in New Zealand with a projected mid-2007 release. It is supposed to have a bigger budget than DOOM.
don't even need to mention it being shot in new zealand i'm sure Jackson's personal assitant monkies, Weta are working on it.
I haven't found anything yet that says peterjackson is doing it from his mouth, namely bungie said this stuff a month ago.. and the rumor was proven false. just a curious tidbit.

Isn't Master Chief supposed to be like 9 feet tall or something? Be interesting to see how they do that....so long as they don't resort to cheap theatrical tricks like they did for hobbits (I don't care if it seemed to work well, there are some scenes that can't be done right that way).

I don't think he was 9' tall, but in his armor, he was closer to 7 than to 6. Always had to look down a little to see people, but it wasn't too noticible.
Could be interesting. If they had the whole thing in first person, like the game, it'd make it even better. Is what I had thought Doom should of done, but I've seen a clip (the chainsaw clip with the big dog thingie) in Doom where they go back to first person, and it seems to be the best clip I've seen this far of that movie.
The Rock is good for action films, but he just shouldn't speak. Let's hope his voice doesn't kill this movie like it did Scoprion King

You know...I'd much rather have a red vs. blue movie then a halo movie. Theres not enough plot for a movie - great shoot em up game, but no movie. Red vs Blue though...That has some potential.

The word "bi-partisan" usually means some larger-than-usual deception is being carried out.

It will probably follow the plot line for the first game or the books (Fall of Reach, The Flood, First Strike) or some combination. Halo 2 will probably be saved for a sequel.
