I thought mid engine was illegal for cars made in the US due to fire hazards or something like that.

well i dont know of any such laws, but seeing as how this car is mid engine and its a legal street car, no i dont think so

The only problem i know they had in production is because the engine is so heavy was crash testing they had to make sure if you hit something head on the engine wont keep moving through the car into the cockpit(or whatever you want to call it)

ive driven in one, it is quite a monster, i can see how some idiot could lose control, but the whole no skid marks thing does baffle me
