I googled the painting and trust me, he couldn't have really messed it up, probably improved it. I could paint that, and noone would give me 1.5 million. Sometimes I wonder who decides which ones are worth alot of money.

Guys, you're forgetting one thing. We all go to Rolla. We are in no way, shape, or form qualified for judging and criticizing art. I'm not saying I understand why this is valued so highly and am above you all, but I'm not going to say that I think I could do that or that I know what it represents.

The word "bi-partisan" usually means some larger-than-usual deception is being carried out.

Since we go to Rolla, we are probably the most qualified because engineers tell it like it is and that is a piece of shit. I can see that isn't worth $1.5 million just as any artist can realize that our BE 20 or IDE 20 projects are not worth $1.5E6 either.

Dang, I was hoping that someone had defaced "Hexagon" or something... by, say, giving it an extra side?
Aggh! Can't find a picture; I don't know the artist. Basically, its a piece of wire strung around 6 posts tacked onto a canvas to make a crude hexagon. Yay art!

We may tell it like it is, but 99% of the people here are not qualified AT ALL to judge art. Engineering and art may collide frequently, but abstract art is a whole other ballpark for engineers. The "shit" that you see may be a masterpiece to an experienced art aficionado.

Good thing that isn't art then, huh? That happens to be paint spilled on a canvas.
EDIT:: And what "qualifies" someone to judge art?
