nice, now the only question is will it be used... and what kind of basic file would u need for a movie or game... 700-4gig file.. thatd not only take a long time to convert and unconvert, but ud have to download 2x the file u want, since ud have to get the basic file as well, unless they make some kind of program that creats a standard basic file using an alogriuthm(sp) to reproduce the same file each time...
sweet idea though

Not really. All they're doing is XORing the files together. Most modern processors can do that in hardware.

I dunno, like he said in the first paragraph, logically it works, but the RIAA isn't going to care.
Additionally, all it boils down to is encrypting the data using XOR as an algorithm and a "one time pad" type key. Nothing terribly special. You could argue that without mp3 hardware decoders, mp3 files would be the same thing as munging, albeit lossy instead of lossless. So this has already been done, and the RIAA has already said 'fuck you'.

In Playboy Enters. v. Webbworld Inc., 991 F. Supp. 543 (N.D.TX 1997) Webbworld argued that the photos stored on their servers were only binary representations of the data and the act of veiwing the picture (which was never done by Webbworld) was the actual infringment. The court ruled in favor of Playboy. Ignoring that, consider MGM Studios, Inc. v. Grokster Ltd. 125 S. Ct. 686 (2005) which found that software which delibertly circumvents copyright law still infringes upon the copyright holder.
