has anybody successfully been able to map their S or W drive since umr's super-intelligent IT department implemented dfs?

winSCP is total shit, and that's the only answer they have.

Establish VPN and map

\\minerfiles.umr.edu\dfs\users\userid
\\minerfiles.umr.edu\dfs\userweb\userid

or SFTP

Hostname: minersftp.umr.edu
Port: 22
Remote directory:

/users/userid
/userweb/userid

It sucks more than it used to, but it works (as long as you don't want to use gpunix).

On a side note, apparently you cannot map to another person/organization's drive anymore if you are logged into a campus machine. In other words: if you run the website for an organization on campus, you have to log in as that organization in order to update their website if you are on campus.

First, you have to login as that organization, then you can set permissions for that folder for your regular userid, then log back in with your userid and you can view it.

Guru, yeah, you can use sftp with winscp still. The server info is somewhere in this thread.
