As thought provoking as my statement was, you pretty much said what I was thinking. It's nice to see recognition of Linux on a corporate level (and Microsoft epitomizes the image of corporation), but I agree that the platform could be turned into a money-making machine for larger companies... Could be good, could be bad, but I guess time will tell (and hence the Hmmm... ).

I don't know what you mean by this. Red Hat is a very large corporation, and is 100% free software. I am not sure what "smaller and truly free software providers" refers to, but I am pretty sure that Novell and Red Hat have contributed more to open source than they have.
