I am a masters of science EE student. The woman at the bookstore told me I needed the orange hood because I am getting my masters in engineering. The yellow hood though is for 'masters of science' and the orange says it is for 'masters of engineering'. My adviser told me he thinks I should have the yellow one but wasn't sure. Anyone know what is going on?

My brother was a Masters of Engineering and had the orange hood, so you probably don't want that one.

I'm not terribly sure what a Master Eng degree is, but if you did the traditional thesis master's program, I'm decently sure you want the MS hood.

A Master of Engineering degree is typically a professional degree. No research is usually performed, the degree is almost all coursework, and there is no thesis or report. People usually get them who are already in the workforce and want a master's. They are also usually more credit hours than a Master of Science degree. Also, with a Master of Engineering degree, you usually can't get a PhD, it is the last degree you get...you need a M.S. to go on to a PhD.
