I was tired of looking for some ddr400 that someone was willing to part with for cheap and found this deal. I know that some others of you were looking for some cheap ddr as well so you might want to take a chance with the mir to get 512mb for $10+shipping. but you gotta hurry, it ends today.
Yeah, I checked and both rebates are offered from TD, not the manufacturer. This is one hell of a deal, but there are many horror stories about TD rebates.
well, i personally have done several (2 or 3) mir's through onrebate and td and have recieved checks in the mail successfully for all of them [crosses fingers/knocks on wood]. yes, i have heard the horror stories as well but thought some of you still might be interested. dont get it if you dont like mir's. simple as that.
sometimes it does take more than the 8-10 weeks as stated in the terms of the rebate but i'll try to remember to notify you if and when i get mine back. deal?

No, it's not MIR's in general, it's TD MIR's. There's a big difference. We weren't crapping on the deal (if everything goes through, that's one helluva deal), but TD is infamous for their crappy MIR's.

I bit on a TD add for a $80 250GB HD after $50 MIR, and the rebate never came. They just gave me the run around and said I didn't fill out the shit right or include the right stuff. I was pissed and vow never to shop from there again.
I always look on NewEgg and Passwird now for stuff. They have normally just as good deals, and aren't asshats.

Both rebate checks came in the mail today. One for $30 and one for $40. So essentially that 512MB ram stick cost me $10 + around $7 for shipping.
Just thought some of you would like to know that all TD rebates aren't BS just cause you may have heard of some dude getting screwed. This is the second time I have dealt with TD MIR's and I've gotten all of them back both times. Will probably do it again in the future.

be careful having rebate checks mailed to your UMR address, expecially near the end of a semister. I have heard several times that such mail is not forwarded, and is simply thrown away by the UMR mailbox ... umm ... handlers, at the front desks.

That's complete bullshit. It HAS to be delivered if it is Presorted standard, which any mail-in-rebate should be and UMR could easily get in trouble. I worked at the front desk and remember dealing with those issues. If they aren't in the forward log or currently here, we do a return to sender.
