I think it typically takes like feet of snow to cancel classes.

I think the only way UMR would cancel class due to snow is if they could not keep the sidewalks mostly free of ice, and the doors were frozen shut. Its very unlikely they will cancel everything.

Has the school ever been closed due to the weather, or is it always up to the professor?
Yes it has, but the last time (as I remember being told) was in the mid-to-late 90's, when apparently there was very, very bad weather that disabled most of campus.

Well, maybe we can get another two-day power outage. That cancelled classes pretty handily.

Anyone notice that it's 7 in the morning, and the Rolla road crews haven't done jack squat?
Rolla Public schools are cancelled, so no need to clear the roads for the busses. They probably called it a snow day and went back to bad. Wish I could do the same.
I can't see 63 very well from here, but university drive appears to still be snow-covered, so I can't imagine anywhere else would be much better.
I've been waiting for that e-mail since FS03. I'm sure there are people that have been waiting a lot longer than me. I wonder what it actually takes to cancel classes (besides a power outage).
