He had a trace drawn on his screen (or on saran wrap over his screen, etc.). I've done it before, and it's super-easy.

All in all, I'd say it took him around 2 to 2.5 hours. He has definatly done this before many many times. I've done similar stuff in more "user-friendly" programs and achieved comparable results after about 3 hours, but I was fairly new at it.

Give me a break. Some video clip gets posted on digg and people shit themselves over it. I'm not denying the guy is a good artist, but this same thing has been around for ages on paint BBS among other things, and just because it's on mspaint doesn't mean he has an advantage over any other artist that knows how to use paint programs properly. The basic tools are all there.
