The service to my sprint phone just went out and i normally have fully service in my apartment. I can go on roaming, but PCS service is out. Was just wondering if anybody else with sprint was having the same problem?

It is on digital roam here for me, and I usually have full network service. I'm betting the Sprint tower is down. Since I don't have free roaming I'm going to stay off it until it comes back up.

While I am not exactly proud of it, it is times like these I am glad I am a Cingular customer.

No kidding... I don't even know what roaming is anymore.

Its either No Service at all, or you're on the cingular network.

I have always been in the latter. My GF (a sprint user) got fucked by roaming charges when some mexican bastard stole her phone account somehow. only after (literally) days on the phone with sprint's exectuive customer service did they get things sorted out.

Which is kinda useless because Cingular's network sucks. There were many times I wished my phone would roam on other networks (I had free roaming on Cingular) but it didn't, and I was stuck without service. I found Cingular to be decent in rural areas like Rolla, but in big cities coverage is nearly non-existant. I spent a week in New York City and my cell phone was basically useless...you'd expect to get a signal in the middle of Manhattan. Same can be said for other large cities I've been to, Washington DC, New Orleans (before Katrina fucked everything up), and of course, St. Louis, which is home to me...

I switched to T-Mobile back in December and it's been perfect. You're either on T-Mobile's network, or you're roaming on someone else's. I've never been without a signal since I switched.

I usually have pretty good sprint service in Rolla, but when I go out of town down here, I lose service quickly. It's down right now for me too, but usually I get about full service in the RC. They have done a good job expanding their "power vision" service, I think it's down to the St. James area now.

yeah, i've been having the same problems. I don't even get roaming. my guess is that the tower got a lot of ice on it or the power grid that it's on is out.

otherwise i got nothin

Devil, I think you just like to complain a lot. I've had Cingular for 6 years and I'm from Dallas, TX and my serves was fine, I have also spent a week in New York City, where I get a good signal and I have family in and around New Orleans, also have a good signal, so I have spent a lot of time in New Orleans. I have family in Houston, TX, good signal there too, and I get a good signal in Springfield, and St Louis. I also have family out in the middle of nowhere, they don't have cable lines running through the area, they have no other option then dial-up internet, satellite TV, and satellite cell phones, and damn if I don't get 1 little bar out there. My mom, dad, sister, and grandparent have Cingular, my aunt and uncle have Verizon, 1 of her kids has T-Mobile, another has Sprint, and her technical savvy kid has Cingular. When we travel together the 7 of us with Cingular generally have signal, whereas it's a crap shoot for the rest of the family. I have several townie friends at school and most of them live outside the city limits and they have told me Cingular is the only provider that gets a signal out where they live. Now you obviously like T-Mobile, which I have no problem with, but Cingular does not suck as much ass as you may think.

What reason would I have to lie? I personally don't care which cell provider one has and I'm not trying to sell one or dissuade people from the other. I'm going off my personal experience...my phone was a piece of shit, maybe thats why I had poor service...who knows. All I know is that the 2 years I had them, the service was horrible for me, and in a discussion about cell providers and the quality of service, I chimed in with my opinion. I'm not making up shit because I like to complain a lot or anything like that....everything I posted is true based on my own experience. And I know with cellular providers, your mileage may vary.
