Embarq is doing a trial Wireless coverage of campus.. it runs till the end of december.. covers all of campus.. and then some... runs along 63 from 9th up to tj all the way over to the other side of campus.. running up rolla and pine.. its a perty large area.. i wish i lived closer to campus XD..

And Embarq's is supposed to cover campus support, though I only get a very weak signal there.

I've been seeing the embarq trial ssid all semester long but never knew what the hell it was. Was this poorly advertised, or did I just happen to miss the announcement? Knowing about this months ago would have been nice. At least, it would have made Math 303 (Mathematical Modeling) a lot more interesting (Rolla Building ain't got no UMR wifi love).

It wasn't advertised at all, that was on purpose. I think Embarq plans on having a Rolla-wide mesh but they wanted to start with this UMR test first.

well i got the same results on several servers (including the chicago one) its just low speed, and you don't appear as a "clever" user on torrent network.
