Ok, so you didn't place your order exactly right, and you're mad about being on hold for a couple of minutes? Looks like there's no pleasing you.

Just so you know how customer service works, the person you were talking to most likely did not have the authority to give you any reimbursement at all. That is why you get put on hold; they are asking their supervisor what they can do in the situation, and sometimes they have to ask someone else. This is how just about all customer service departments work, so get used to it.

No no no, she had come back to me several times saying her "supervisor" was denying me any sort of refund. Once I told them about the receipt I had, their tone changed almost immediately because they knew they couldn't convince me I was wrong. I DID place my order exactly right the first time (with obviously a receipt to boot), and your "on hold for a couple of minutes was over an hour", all told.

Well, you made it sound like all you had was the link to the deal, which, to be honest, if I was working in their customer service department and someone called up and all they had was a link, I wouldn't give them shit.

But, if you had a reciept saying that they would only charge $10 and they charged more, then you should've said that to them in the first place. That's why you were on the phone for an hour.

Nearly the exact same thing happened with me. When I bought my XPS laptop they were supposed to send a 175 dollar gift card with it. I never got it but eventually got a 100 card after hours on the phone and them explaining to me that a employee who was fired had offered that deal to alot of other people and was fired for it. I guess they were being paid on commission on phone orders.

On the other hand, dells customer support for XPS owners is AMAZING!!! I've never been put on hold for more then a minute, they do anything you ask and they overnight any software/parts/OS that you need or want. When I told them that my dvd drive was getting loud they offered to ship a new one to me and have it at my door the next day.

Definitely 2 BIG THUMBS UP FOR XPS Support.

They should give you something for the outrageous price they have on those damn things....

Lava Tea, did you even read his link? It says clearly, and in BOLD print, that he had the receipt.

Normally I'd agree but I got mine, a XPS 1710, fully loaded w/ 5 yr full warrenty for $1300 after exploiting a massive coupon code overlap and a 25% employee discount and doesn't even include the 100 gift certificate that I got.

Damn, that is a pretty great deal. When I was looking at them, the XPS vs non XPS (I am pretty sure the exact same components) was like $500+ difference in price....

Every company has their slips whether it be their fault of because someone clicked on the wrong button. Personally I've bought 2 laptops and 2 desktops from Dell and I've only had awesome experiences with all of them so whatever happened to you has to be some odd ball completely out of the ordinary mistake.
