maybe its just a random survey, or nobody else has filled it out yet, but i just got this email from Lauren (StuCo President):
Quote:
The university is in the process of gathering input from various audiences about a proposed name change for UMR. As a current UMR student, your input on this subject is very important. Please take a few minutes to complete the online survey linked below and let us know your thoughts on this important matter.
This survey will be open from Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, through Monday, Jan. 29, 2007.
Thank you for your interest in UMR!
Sincerely,
Lauren Huchingson President, UMR Student Council
of course, i chose to keep the name the same and not fuck it up with some carney bs. just wondering what everybody else was up to with this

I don't mind the MUSE or MUST options, but I am kinda bothered by the fact that I might not graduate from UMR. I've been here for about 3 years, and it would be lame for the name to change during my senior year.

I encourage everyone to fill out the survey, whether it be for or against the name change. Also even though the Chancellor wants the name changed it's ultimately not up to him. So hopefully the results of everyone's opinion will be what happens.

Maybe it is just the conspiracy theorist in me, but I have to believe that he has already spoken to the board of Curators, since all of the lame combinations have Missouri and University in them. If we were actually looking for a NATIONAL recognition, I would think we would stay away from a regional (MO is a region in my warped mind) name....

Hey, as long as we keep the word 'University' in the name, I don't care. But I don't go to an institute. That makes it sound like one of Missouri's eight billion crappy technical "colleges."
p.s. Yes, I know, MIT. I don't care. lol
