Really hope that they don't get their contract next year.
You think that's bad, Havener has 16 critical violations
edit: Jason beat me to it. And if their contract was renewed, then that's just absolute bullshit, especially after seeing this. Not only is it bullshit, it's proof that reslife only gives a damn about making a buck and could care less about the students.

Most recent report for Rayl (11/16/06 vs 11/09/06 inspection)
Most recent report for TJ (12/06/06 vs 11/29/06 inspection)
Most recent report for Havener (11/09/06 vs 11/02/06 inspection)
Additionally, because the dining services contract actually came up for re-bidding this year, that does not necessarily mean that Chartwell's is going to receive the contract. (see the "Bids/Proposals Opened But Not Yet Awarded" section of this site for more information on the bidding process.)
Edit before someone flames me: I'm not trying to defend Chartwell's, I just don't like people trying to disseminate information that is not correct.

It WAS correct at one time, and that is one time too many. It is great that they have fixed the issues at hand, but it does not hurt to know what to look for in the future. I think of it like a credit report, past behavior tends to dictate future behavior.

WOW... Yet another reason Im glad I never stayed in the dorms or was forced to buy a meal plan for them. Nothing better than your own kitchen.
(Or Chipotle, but we dont have one here... prolly a good thing, I'd go broke)

Soooo what is the status on the ol' food service bid process? I will be mega sad if they are here again next year... anyone know the odds of that happening?

They have screwed up multiple times. Just becuase they get inspected. Fail the inspection and then have a mandatory follow up inspection within the next two weeks doesn't mean they fixed themselves. Look at the search again. All the inspections come in pairs.

The most recent inspections were not the yearly 'surprise' inspections that i posted. They are the follow-ups that chartwells had to comply with to not get shut down alltogether. You should notice that some of them take 2 followups to remove all critical violations.
