I'm not good enough to play in a tournament. My internet at home isn't good enough to play CS online, and I don't play on campus cause I'm always busy. When I do play CSS, I play against bots. While the "hard" bots are tough but beatable, real people are not as predictable. The few times I've tried to play online, I got beat so bad I couldn't figure out what happened.
So now, I just play me by myself vs 30 expert bots using only knives, kind of like zombies. It's fun, but no good for practice against people.
Enjoy your lan game. I miss the days of sitting in the dorms, everybody on the floor playing every day, yelling at each other. Never too competitive, but always fun. And you knew someone might run up and throw a pillow at you (or something less... friendly).

We don't have a final schedule for the tournaments yet, so I can't give a specific answer yet. I'll make sure to post on here and the website when we get it done.
Just signed up. Any pics of the shirts? Also why 3v3 CSS? I don't even know how you can play a real map competitively with three people. Maybe aim_maps...
Well lookin forward to it I guess since I didnt attend wang
We leaned against 5v5 CS:S because we weren't sure how many people would play in the tournament... also, we wanted to be able to have better prizes and it's hard to do that when there are 5 people on a team.
The shirt design is still in progress, should be done really soon though because keysport needs it 2 weeks in advance.

This is still unconfirmed, but we're looking at running the first half of the CS:S tournament Friday evening and finishing it on Saturday afternoon. Warsow will probably start Saturday evening and finish on Sunday afternoon. I don't want to run the tournaments concurrently because I want everyone to have the opportunity to play in both tournaments, and we don't have enough dedicated servers to run both them at once. The length of the tournaments will all depend on how many want to play in them. Its possible that we could run them just on Saturday, but this assumes that not that many are playing in them. We'll have something worked out by the end of the week.
For those interested in Warsow, here are the rules: version: latest (currently 0.42) gametype: duel timelimit: 15 mins scorelimit: 0 map pool: wdm2, wdm5, wdm10a, wdm15
Please PM me any comments/questions/suggestions about the Warsow tournament, or just post here. Thanks!
I would prefer 1.6 over Source, but thats me. Anyone else?
Yea me too but everyone's jumping on the css bandwagon so why not. 1.6 is definitely the better game. Its too bad cs pro mod was such a failure for css. I was really hoping 1.6 gameplay could be modded into css but I guess not.

Can't be to big of a bandwagon considering WCG 2008 is going with CS 1.6
Yeah... I don't remember the exact reason for choosing source over 1.6, but we're kind of set now. Initially we wanted tournaments but we opted for better prizes with fewer tournaments instead.

I would like to have SC and UT3 being played there as well. If there're enough other people that'll play those, then I'll go ahead and join the party [probably]. Since I'm not really a big CS or Warsow or WC fan, there's currently not really that big of a draw for me.

CSS and Warsow are just the official tournament games with prizes - last semester there was a lot of TF2 going on, a little DOTA, some starcraft, some DukeNukem3D... pretty much a bit of everything. Trust me - over 3 days people are going to get bored of whatever they're playing and will play with you. If you play it, they will come - lol.

2. Starcraft (only 1v1 or teams, no UMS maps unless they're maps using side balancing)
This is my 2nd choice game, before Warsow, so I'll definitely be up for some games! If I can get a lot of guys from my floor to go, you'll see a lot of Starcraft action If not, I'll be up for some 1v1s or 2vC games if no one else wants to play.
