peanut butter goes on first. then the jelly on the opposite slice of bread.

if you put the jelly on first, it gets all soggy.... and nobody wants a soggy sandwich

Jelly first, peanut butter is harder to get off the knife.

How this works is you put peanut butter on each slice of bread. Then you place jelly on one( or both if you like to live on the edge ). Place the 2 slices together and seal the jelly in between the peanut butter. This way the bread has no chance of getting soggy.

If you're adventurous, I have a suggestion.. most everyone says it's disgusting and have refused to try it, but I've gotten 3 or 4 people to try it and they all said it wasn't that bad.. but add a bit of ketchup to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It's very interesting.. mixes with the jelly somehow and just adds a bit of a tangy taste. (works best with grape jelly/jam) My favorite way is to use 3 pieces of bread, peanut butter and jelly between two slices and peanut butter and ketchup between the other, making a double decker sort of thing.

OR if you are running short on jelly, just using butter (i.e. a peanut butter and butter sammich) works well, especially when microwaved for a short time for that added warmth.

yum.

I also hear that fags replace jelly with bananas, since they just can't get enough.

I'll second that. Especially if you toast the bread first, mmmmm.... Also good on eggos. Of course, so is peanut butter and jelly. Mmmm... waffle sandwich.

I like a slice of cheese with my PB&J.

And while some people may find it disgusting, I also like to throw some summer sausage in there once in awhile.

I've tried mine with a slice of cheese.. while not bad, it's not something I really enjoyed enough to try again.

As a little kid I always ate crunchy peanut butter, orange marmalade, and sour cream and cheddar ruffles PB&J. Now I just stick with creamy peanut butter and strawberry jam.

As a kid I'd always mix the two together in a bowl and then spread it on the sandwich.

Now I do peanut butter first. I like peanut butter :D
