So, how about this new facebook chat?

I've come to the conclusion that it is the reason that FF hangs when I load facebook. Also, I chat with AIM, I don't chat on a website.

I'm thinking this won't take off until it's released as independent software, or integrated with trillian.

Opera doesn't support it so I won't have to worry about unless I am on campus. Also, I get my facebook trough my blackberry so messaging me or writting on my wall is just as fast. If pidgeon or Adium starts supporting it I might add an account to one of those. For now it just seems like an easier way to seeing which friends are currently online. And by easier I mean one less button click.

I might always have fb open on a tab but I rarely ever check it often. So since there isnt even an indication of you have been messaged its pretty lame.

Until they support Seamonkey (which runs off pretty much the same code base as FF) I won't be able to use it, and regardless it seems pretty useless since anyone I would want to use Facebook Chat to talk to would already have to be near a computer or other device capable of receiving instant messages, making it redundant.

What if you wanted to message someone you are stalking and happen to be facebook friends with but don't know their AIM or phone number?

I voted that it could be improved, but I changed my mind, it sucks...bad.
It hangs so badly that I can't even close it for a little while.

Oh, and it does work on Opera 9.26, and that's the problem.

Well since everyone obviously puts all their information on facebook anyway, you should already have that information as well as their email, home address, shoe size, and favorite Jello flavor.
