Even though I'm not a "closet Bond freak," so to speak, I must admit I'm looking forward to this new one.
But I've always been curious... shouldn't the "Bond" character be 50 or 60 years old by now? Doesn't he ever look forward to retirement like a normal person?

According to the books Bond was born sometime in the early 20s meaning he'd be pushing 90 now. But Casino Royale was a reboot of the series so Bond (in the movies) was now born in 1968. I know this because I have too much time on my hands and wikipedia'd James Bond.
Also, I'm really excited for the new film.

yes, but for the most part you consider each Bond actor individually. For example, I hated 007 movies because the only ones that I had ever seen were the Pierce Brosnan (aka absolute shit) ones. After i saw Daniel Craig in Casino Royale my mind was totally changed, and I've grown more interested in some of the older Bond movies. Granted, these still have their disasters, but some are real classics.
Also - for anyone who liked Daniel Craig as James Bond - check out Layer Cake. I think this movie was the one that won him the role of 007. Awesome movie too.

If by disasters, then you mean everything that stars Roger Moore, then I agree.
As someone who has advocated a more serious Bond for some time, I'm worried about the series over doing it. People lauded Casino Royale for its dramatic take on the series, and I'm afraid that subsequent Bond films are going to start trying to "out-serious" each other, if that makes sense. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to this film, and will probably see it upwards of 5 times in theaters.
