I have a dead laptop that I'm wanting to get some files off. The harddrive is still good, it just won't power up. Is there a way to connect the drive to a different laptop to copy over some files?

If the HDD is SATA, you can just plug that into your desktop... no problem.

What kind of enclosure do I need to get? Is it difficult to get the hdd out of the laptop?

Gonna throw this out there, but it sounds like you're a little inexperienced. My first reccomendation would be to find a computer savvy friend to help you with the finer details.
