OK I have a dell Lattitude CPx from 2001 that has 2 battery modules and no CD bay module anymore because I thought I was never going to have to format it again. Does anyone have one of these old laptops CD drives I can borrow long enough to put vector linux light back on it?
A cd drive from any of the older black dell laptops with the curvy front modular multi-bays will work (That covers a good 5-7 years of manufacture dates.)

I gutted a Dell Latitude a while back, and still have the drive in good working order. I do not recall the model of the Latitude, but it's worth a shot.
Taco Bell is teh sex man. I demand Chalupas. If the drive isn't compatible, I'll pay my ticket.

A few years ago I inherited a cadaverous Lattitude CPi or some such, with a front-load CD module (Dell p/n 5044D A02). If it'll work for you, you can have it.
