schweet.... is it multiplayer? ill mess with it when i get home

Officially, multiplayer isn't supported because when this game first came out, the only ways for multiplayer to work was modem connections or IPX, both of which are vastly outdated. Revamping those communications protocols was outside of the scope for a free release, so they chose not to include it.

However, there are some mods out that reinstate multiplayer, but I am not sure what protocols are supported (internet, TCI/IP, UDP, LAN, etc.). When you download and install the game, it asks if you want to read the readme for the game. I STRONGLY suggest you click yes. The readme is actually their website with a link to their forums that discusses this particular issue and more.

Installation of the game on Linux through Wine worked flawlessly. I have yet to test if it actually works.

Did this free copy need a serial number? Is it still available from anyone that manage to get a copy of it?

Way to necro a thread. I updated the link in the first post, RemedyGames.com still has a link to the joystiq page under their Death Rally dropdown, they just changed their site so the original link doesn't work any more.
