I own a 1984 Pontiac Parisienne, really long two-tone blue car with a couple rust spots and a couple dents, license plate 046 PMM. The latch for the trunk of this car has been broken all semester, and I have not been able to get it fixed. I had been fortunate enough not to have any problems up through a couple weeks ago, which was the last time I drove it back down. When I went to it this past weekend though, I did.

The first problem was that I had a tow sticker on my window for parking in what appeared to be a perfectly legal spot (no yellow line, no sidewalk). After trying to get that damn thing off for about 10 minutes, I was going to get some cleaner out of my trunk to get the rest of it off. Well sure enough, the trunk was now empty. I figure it must have blown open during one of the heavy winds recently, and someone walking by saw the open trunk with stuff in it and said "Hey! Free Stuff!". Not only that, but apparently the trunk must have been open a long time, keeping the trunk light on, because now the battery is dead and I cannot start the car. I had a friend try to jump it, but the battery was completely drained, so it barely did anything besides turn on the accessories when we tried.

The main reason I am making his post is too see if someone saw the stuff, noticed the latch was broken, and was a good samaritan by taking the stuff into safekeeping for me. It's a very slim chance, but I'll never know if I don't ask. I had two crates of emergency supplies stored in that trunk. If someone did indeed do this, please tell me. I WILL GIVE A REWARD FOR THE RETURN OF THOSE SUPPLIES. They were in fairly nice condition, and if I were to actually have a problem on the road then they would become invaluable. That's why I had them in the trunk in the first place.

Another reason for making this post is to see if someone can help me move my car before it gets towed. I don't care how, portable charger (have at home, but obviously can't get there now), spare battery, enough time to sit and wait for a jump to finally work. Just something to help me get it moved before it is supposed to be towed sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you so much for reading my post. Sorry it was so long, I just had to explain my situation. Thanks again.

Oh, I almost forgot, my e-mail address is djs6cb@umr.edu if you wish to contact me.

I don't have the stuff, but I could give you a jump.
Where/when?

If we can find a rope, I can pull your car to a new location.

Thanks for the offer to jump Castorite, and thanks for the attempt to jump Don, but it turns out my problem is more than just a dead battery. Seconds after the person who kindly jumped my vehicle for me left, I made an additional discovery... The good samaritan that took all of my stuff for safekeeping also was kind enough to siphon out my gas for safekeeping.

Yeah, so now I have a dead battery and an empty tank of gas. I think the situation has become one worthy of needing to summon my parents for their help. Unless somebody out there is feeling charitable enough to give me some free gas. :D

The reward for my stuff is still being offered. If anybody knows where my stuff is and can return it to me, I will give a reward of $50.00 for it.

If you need a gas can, ask the cashiers at the Mobil across from TJ. They let me borrow it two years ago when my car got thirsty. For gas, just grab a buck from a friend who'd just throw it away on pizza.

Off-topic, but I was wondering who else drove the big Pontiacs I'd seen around campus. Good to hear from someone else with one. Viva la B-body!
