does anyone have a good collection of what would be like top 40 music? i've been out of the radio loop for so long it'd be nice if someone's got a folder dedicated to all the popular crap so i can pick and choose... just curious

You, good sir, have just lost any credibility when it comes to music...
you should be thankful that you are out of the radio loop. Because that's what it is, a loop, and probably the shittiest loop ever to exist on the planet.
that's why i want to AVOID the loop and pick and choose the .mp3 files so i can listen to them maybe once a day if i like, and not 3 times in the same 10 minute car ride
and a lot of top 40 songs are catchy, and also more appropriate for a party atmosphere than, say, less than jake (or insert your favorite indy/obscure musical talent here)
less than jake isn't obsxure....and who says that it's not great for a party....if i were to pick the music....i'd say fuck what everybody knows and likes....sometimes it's best to pick the stuff you like and other people haven't heard

The best way to find music is to ask people what they like then check it out and decide if you like it.

Why does that matter? How is anyone supposed to find any music that NO ONE has ever heard of. The band makes music, then doesn't tell anyone about it, but someone has it on their hard drive, then you just happen to find it and go "holy shit that was amazing." I don't fucking think so. Someone has to hear about it, someone has to tell you, "hey my friend's new band has some cool stuff, here's the name, check it out"
BUT I am kinda tired, so I might have taken that part WAY out of context. If so, let me know.
