Sounds like a cookie problem. I don't have any problems on my home computer, but the computer at work here resets them each time I close the browser, since it's set to reject pretty much all cookies. Check your cookie settings.

I don't know about that. Screen shot of cookie settings [has been deleted]. It seems that whenever I visit the site, the "last visited" readout never changes up until I go on campus and use IE with lower security settings. After that, things will be up to date as of that point.

I do have "throw away new cookies on exit" set, but that shouldn't matter as the Seek42 cookies were created before that rule was enabled. In a client-server environment like a forum website, I'd be more apt to put the responsibility for keeping track of a user on the server. The user will not always use the same web browser (and thus, cookies) to visit the site.

Anyway, it was never a problem up until the front page was rewritten to have the user's avatar in the title bar. Whatever got changed at that time broke my web browsers on three different platforms.

It works on both of my computers, therefore it works.
