So, the UMR Football team won their season opener against Upper Iowa tonight 42-7. What do you think? I believe this is the first football win in at least 2 years. Isolated incident, or do you think this'll happen again?

GO MINERS!

Anyway...hopefully we can win against Truman next.

We won the opening game in 2001 and 2002, and none in 2003

An amazing game tonight, so cool. We almost shut them out too, they barely scored their 1 TD, with like 5sec left in the 1st half. Hope we can win another game.

I definitely like the part where WE got to invoke the mercy rule, for once. :D

How crappy must that Iowa team have been?

Oh well, a win is a win, Go Miners!

(Wow, the previous sentence is the most school spirit I've shown since being here.)

Have two guys on the team in my Edu 40 class, and they both promised at least four games. Let's see if the Miner's can keep up this winning streak.

I know you can't call one game a streak, really, but hey, it's the MINER's and they won a game. Gotta give them something special for it.

This sounds more accurate, at least in respect to home games. As a marching band member for the past two years, and having been to all the home games, this is the only win I've ever actually seen the Miners, well, win.

42 is such a great number.

A victory for seek42 as well, then! Did we stop scoring after 42 on purpose?

Wow, just realized it, thanks to that AC. Is odd, ya know, 42. Must be some sort of universal thing, trying to tell us that the Miners might do ~gasp~ well this season.

GO MINERS!

Please edit your post.

Northern Iowa /= Upper Iowa.

No offense to anyone, but Northern Iowa would wipe the floor with the Miners. They are a perenial DI-AA football powerhouse and are probably a contender for the DI-AA title.

That post almost gave me a heart attack.

FYI Northren Iowa = Alma Mater of Kurt Warner.

Eh, Kurt Warner's a diva-wannabe. I am suprised any team took him. Still isn't going to start
