I've noticed an increase in the number of people with motorcycles this year. We need to all get together and go for a ride. I only know about 3 - 4 people in Rolla with bikes. I drive a black Yamaha R6 and occasionally a Black Eclipse. Who here rides???

student organization/club ??

I ride an 85 Yamaha RZ350, its friggin badass. As far as I know there is only 1 like it in town right now. You'll know it's me when you see a cloud of blue smoke and awesome sounding exhaust note.

I've always heard they get 40-50-ish, depending on how you ride them. But then again i really don't know much about bikes.

I want one bad....for about $10k you can get a bike that will absolutley smoke almost every sports car on the road, out handle handle them, and get better fuel economy. Of course it is much easier to kill yourself, lol.

Ducati is a name IMO. Sure it is an awesome bike. For a low range priced Ducati you can get something better.
Gas milage really depends on the way to drive, but drive easy and you can get 30 or more easy.

my dad has an 1100cc kawasaki and he said he gets like 50mpg which is awesome since gas prices arent the greatest. I was gonna get a CBR600 F4i at the beginning of the summer, but that idea got nixed by mom... damn... theres an F4i for sale in the forums i believe.

Yeah, the R6 was blue and white. I painted it black to match my eclipse.

I have a friend with a busa and well...damn. I was reading and article in some old magazine the other day that went a little something like this:

"He turned onto the on ramp and felt the bike(busa) try to shoot out from between his legs. As he heard the engine whine he looked down and saw he was doing 90, so he did what any sensible person would do. He let off the gas, clutched, and shifted to second."

Bikes are cool. I only have a 600 and it will do somewhere around 70mph in 1st gear. I like Busa's too, however, if you plan on hitting any corners you're screwed. They are only good for straight stretches. A 600 sportbike with a good operator would spank a Busa on an oval track or some highway twisties. Not that I wouldn't like one

Speaking of Ducati's, someone had a really nice one red/white parked by the physics building. I have a 30 mile commute everyday to campus so I only take my bike about half the time. I started driving it more since parking seems to be impossible in a car. The only downside is I have alot of highway to cover just to get there so I wear the jacket, gloves, etc....and they are a pain in the ass to carry around all day. But living in Rolla with a bike is the way to go.....hardly ever have to worry about parking.

I'm always looking for people to ride with. We need to all get together and have huge rides! That would be Sweet! If you ever see some poor bastard toting around an assload of gear That's Me, feel free to come talk to me. :D
